Houses of Renaissance in Soultz

Langue parlée - Allemand Langue parlée - Anglais Parking Restauration sur place

The town of Soultz has kept at its centre the urban fabric of the Renaissance, with the exception of the Republic Square, which was laid out in the 19th century. Most of the residences were built in the 16th and 17th centuries between the Peasants' Revolt and the Thirty Years' War. They possess architectural elements such as the stair turrets or oriel windows that highlight the wealth enjoyed by the city through the cultivation of vine. The wine growers' houses are usually organized around an inner courtyard. Access to outbuildings and basements is through arched porches, often vintage structures.
