                      Walk : The Staufen
Description
The Cross of Lorraine, a 12 m high building, dominates the town of Thann.
A symbol of the Alsatian Resistance at the end of the Second World War, the foundation stone was laid by General de Gaulle on 1 August 1948. The lighting of this monument, built on the Staufen hill, recalls the flame of the Resistance evoked in General de Gaulle's appeal of 18 June.
A family walk to see THann from above.
The highlight is the superb view over the town, the Alsace plain and sometimes the Alps.
